I am blogging while clocking overtime hours. Not that I am in need of money but it's the end of Financial Year 2005/2006, therefore, I am required to stay and finish up whatever work that I have. The ironic thing is... I have nothing to do!
Btw, have you ever thought about how fragile life can be? In all aspects?

The friday outing with my boyfriend to Plaza Singapura was *ahem* INCREDIBLE~!
Honestly... We caught
Date Moive which was *ahem* TOTALLY WORTH the money and time. And my boyfriend was *ahem* TOTALLY INTO ME. Check out his latest blog entry...
I Drive People Crazy.Since we caught a 9.25pm show, it was PRETTY late after the movie and we decided to head home. *yawns*
And on Saturday, my brother greeted me with a surprise of a pair of movie tickets to watch
V For Vendetta at GV Grand. Cool~! THANK YOU KOR! Something to do after my hair cut.
Yes~! I finally decided to go for a trim after so long... Now I feel like a little girl... It feels messy but everyone tells me I look neat. Erh... oh well.. Anyway, that was the longest hair trim I ever had. I spent an hr-ish to just trim and wash. Hahaha.. The hair dresser must have loved my hair. Sigh... One more thing, I never trust them when you say trim, it always becomes a cut... More than an inch of hair was "trimmed". oh well... I feel better after the cut, feels lighter now. hahaha~!The movie was GREAT!! Really~!!! Cos I had nachos and cheesy hotdog and ice lemon tea! WAhahahaha...
After the movie, Kris and I had no plans... yet again.
We're boring people. And so... we went to buy a DVD player!! Wahahaha... And once again, I have something fruitful to do!!
Chiong arh!I have lots of DVDs waiting for me, you know?Hahahha... went home and watched more movies... Watched another 2 movies.
lalalala.... On sunday, I chiong-ed 2 movies. wahahahaha...
Cool larh!!! I think I don't have to leave my room already, unless I need the bathroom.
Happening larh my weekend~!

okay, yesterday, YY, another colleague (Eric) and I shared a cab back home after work. We tried so hard to book for a cab and finally got ONE after waiting what seemed like forever for cablink to dispatch our "order" for us...
Alright... The operator told me that I have to wait for 10-13min. Great... That's a pretty reasonable time being peak hours. Taking the cab from my workplace for so many times, never once did a cab driver not know where the building was located but yesterday for some strange reasons, the cab driver drove to the wrong block.
Fine, maybe the building's "B" wasn't BIG enough for him to see it...I received a call from the cabby..
Cabby: "arlow? ah.. miss arh... I er am er er er arh erha erhahehrhhre.... "
Me: "Huh? What? sorry, what did you say?"
"I er er...aererahreaorhrhaehraher... "
"erh.. Block B! I think you are at the wrong block. Please make a turn and turn left and turn into the first lobby. Thank you."
"Erhareharnaeroihacnacklndafsigwhgowaeithnkv..."
"... yarh!"
You see... I couldn't hear a single thing that he tried to tell me but I managed to spot his cab and make out what he was trying to tell me.
So when he turned in, I signaled to him to open the trunk becos my colleagues had stuff to put in...
He came out to help. I thought to myself, "neat. nice guy."
But! When we boarded the cab, I cross my heart! It was the most horrible cab ride I ever took! Not because he was going in and out of the lanes or dashing across traffic lights or going at 150km/hr. Rather, we was going EXTREMELY slow. I can honestly say that I drive better than him and I started to wonder why didn't I pass!?!!?!!?! (*$^$^%$^%!!!!!
bloody hell...A cab driver onces told me, "every 6 lamp posts, the meter jumps 10 cents. every time you stop at a traffice light, the meter jumps at least 30-50cents."
In this case, it was 3 lamp posts jump 10 cents and turning out from the filter lane, the meter jumps at least 50 cents to a dollar!!!!!!!
I could have reached home in just $8.00 or less but when I reached Kris' place (which is nearer than my place), the meter was already showing $9.50!!!!!! WTH!
Imagine the guy driving at 60km/hr and driving in lane 3.
HELLOW?!!!!! *faints*
Since when cab drivers drive in lane 3 and drives at 60km/hr?!
I actually have to tell him to stay in lane 1 when he turned out into Boon Lay Way from Jurong Town Hall Road. HaiYO...
I was mouthing to YY in the cab, "I drive better!!!"
She couldn't help but giggled.
I felt tortured. Going at 60km/hr and whenever he tried to change lane, he had to think 4-5times. Gosh... I don't blame him. He was a little bit off... I blame the tester who PASSED him!!!!
I spent $2.5k already!!! why can't you let me pass? I don't understand why, when I can drive!! for goodness sake, there're people who totally can't drive!!! it's unfair!! hate you! damnyou! broke liao larh.. now cannot go take 5th TP. *cries*and i think that caby is more dangerous than those who drives fast. cos his reaction damn bloody slow larh. Why? Cos along Boon Lay way, there's this speed camera which he didn't realise until he passed it and jammed brake OUT OF NOWHERE?!!!
GOSH!!! What if the car behind banged us? somemore that one fast lane leh!!!

Stress and the Kettle
The stress and frustration that we hold within ourselves is very much like the boiling water in a kettle. Many of us don't think about it, but pent-up stress accumulates and adds pressure until we finally blow our top. Like the water that finally boils and the steam makes the kettle whistle.
There are often disturbing things that we deal with, that instead of letting go, we dump into our kettle, the back of our minds and hearts. For example, working with someone who deliberately tries to make things difficult for you. All day long, things that affect us negatively get dumped into our sub-conscious instead of being dealt with consciously and released.
Now this is usually fine until we're caught in some situation that lights a fire under us. This causes our dormant feelings and emotions to begin heating up. You know what happens next - when we've had all we can take and the pressure inside us grows so much that it seeks an outlet, we blow. All the pent-up frustrations and emotions just push their way past our rational framework and explode.
Now it's crucial that we know how to manage stress, because stress is not only unpleasant, it damages relationships, careers, and your health. Just as the lime build-up accumulated from water sitting in the kettle begins to eat away at it from the inside, unreleased stress does the same to you. Gradually, what was once a strong and reliable kettle, becomes a worn, broken metal can fit for the garbage heap. You can't allow this to take place inside you so you've got to learn to release stress properly.
Oftentimes, we begin accumulating stress by not being upfront and clear with people we're dealing with, so we end up stuck with this negative energy. Whether with your partner, children, friends, colleagues, or even your boss, learn to be clear on your position concerning what you want done, or what can be expected of you. Let them know that "this works for me" or "this can't be done by this time unless something else gives".
We all sometimes find ourselves caught in situations that make our blood boil, but you must learn to either remove the heat source or remove yourself from it. Try not to stay in situations that keep increasing your pressure. You can walk away from a stressful situation. It's not cowardice - it's very simply, good sense. If you feel that something needs to be done about the situation, remember you can always return to it some other time, after you've cooled off or gone through the options you have, and so on.
And always remember that you need time for yourself. Take breaks from what you're doing - plan a relaxing vacation and don't just plan it, make sure you take it, take a long drive with friends or family and talk about things that are bothering you, take a long warm bath - do whatever is necessary to release your frustrations at the end of the day. Try not to carry the stress into the following day.

so that I can concentrate and do what I do to the best
But I cannot be selfish
My mind tells me once again...
"
You're stronger than what you think you are. Push yourself more. This isn't the end of your limits. You're not even near the finishing line yet. You cannot give up."
At times when I feel all alone
I remind myself...
"
I am not alone becos God lives in me and He has sent His Angels down to watch over me."
And there was once when someone told me,
"
Your sufferings are known and seen, for God sees everything and will reward you in His time."

Idea Two: Used to be a vacant desk? Not anymore. It's "taken". LOL!

Idea Three: Gossip sessions are a norm at work, since your colleagues like poking their nose into your affiars, wrap your desk with newspapers to keep them "up-to-date with the lastest news".

Idea Four: Space age? Don't have a chance to work in space, try this... You'll get that "feel". LOL!

I do not know how many of you would agree with me on this;
"
Greeting your loved one when you are reached home", but I strongly believe in this. Maybe it's the way I was brought up, I have to greet my parents when I am home, greet everyone when I go for family gatherings or greet anyone when I am at his/her place.
For example, "a family case";
it's not just a simple, "hi dear" while doing your own chores but a "HI DEAR!" followed by a kiss or a hug.
I feel that this is basic action will show the other party that you care and allow them to feel important in your life.
I am sure it would not hurt or take another 10% of your energy to do a simple action, right?
When i was younger, I always reminded myself that when I have a family of my own in the future, I will go around and greet them. Be it my husband or kid, simply because, they are the most important assets to me. They are my priceless possessions.

Recently, I have been encountering a few ladies who are having problems with their men. From the about-to-get-married to dating-for-eight-years-but-have-not-talked-about-marriage to married-and-having-the-third-kid-soon to me (been together for less than six months only), my point is... It doesn't matter where are you or at which stage of the relationship, man will always be man, woman will always be woman, simply because of how they are created. Agree?
This was something I heard over the radio.
Relationship advice on "what does a lady really mean?"
Guys, you have to learn how to read in bewteen the lines.
For example:
If a lady says...
"I am sorry."
It means that she apologised, now it's your turn.
"I am ready to leave tis party but you can stay to have fun."
It means that she wants you to come with her.
"I'm fine."
It means that she is upset and it's your duty to find out why.
I usually beg to differ and think that it's quite nonsensical that ladies give their other half a hard time by making them think and read in between the lines. Why can't everyone be straight forward and be truthful?
On the other hand, being a lady, I admit to doing the above mentioned examples at times.
After all, I am being what a lady is created to be.. haha!At the same time, I wished that men can be more sensitive towards their ladies. The reason why your lady doesn't want to tell you straight in the face is simply because they do not want to hurt your ego and give you face.
Refering to my previous post on
King Arthur and the Witch (What Women Really Want), modern, sohisticated, streetwise, charming ladies are starting to progress and be noticed around the world, that's a fact that we can't change or go back to history and change it (it's just a sooner or later issue). So guys, DO YOU REALLY KNOW WHAT YOUR LADY WANT?
My point being, why are each gender take a step back, give way and try to understand each other? Let it be a fair matter for once.
Ladies, try to understand why guys tend to brush the issue off and wish not to discuss about it? There are some possible reasons that I can think of;
1. He is tired and does not want to think about such minor issues when his work (almost as equal as his favourite soccer Liverpool match), that is going to be his "future life", almost killed him and his boss didn't give him a good time.
2. He has no answer to your problems.
3. You complain too much. Cut it down! (kidding).
4.
Open for discussionGuys, try to understand why your girls like to stick to you.
1. You are their source of protection (if not why are you their boyfriend?) but please DO NOT become POSSESSIVE. Oh! It's a BIG DIFFERENCE.
For example:
A. Being protective: "Dear, don't dye your hair because it will damage your hair. You look beautiful to me, with dyed or undyed hair. I love you for who you are and not what you are." (Of cos, must pamper a bit too right?)
B. Being possessive: "YOU CANNOT DYE YOUR HAIR. YOU WILL LOOK LIKE A CHEAP F***ING AH LIAN. I CANNOT ALLOW MY GIRLFIREND TO LOOK LIKE A BITCH." (hey.. There're such MCPs around. And I think they are just insecure, for fear that other guys will notice their girlfriends and be taken away from them.)
2. Girls are more emotional creatures, they have more motherly instincts, therefore, they like being touched (at the right places, at the right time), hold, kissed, basically showered with "pamer-ration". But please har, don't be like 16 yr olds and start groping your girlfriend's butt in public, that's LUST.
HaiyO... still need to teach arh?3. They want to feel as part of your lives, they want to get involved. Why? Cos you are too egoistic (or give me another word to replace) to tell her what you are doing, thinking that she will never understand (how to understand if you don't explain? right or not ladies?)
4.
Open for discussionBUT! There're exceptional cases whereby the guy or lady are not like how I have described as above.
Is that why Men are from Mars and Ladies from Venus?
okay, these are just part of my thoughts (psst.. i am at work. I am already sqneezing whatever I can think of and type it down and please understand that my brain thinks faster than my fingers can type, so i kinda missed out on quite a few points. hehe.)
From here, I just want to apologise to Kris for not being understanding enough. There're still so much more to learn from each other. Let's work something out.
King Arthur and the Witch (What Women Really Want)
This is dedicated to all ladies out there... Especially my dearest Friend, Del... Have you heard the story of "King Arthur's Dilemma - A Wise Lesson for All Men to Learn"?
Well, it goes like this:
As a test, young Arthur was asked to answer the question, "What do women really want?" Brilliant though he was, he simply could not discover the answer. Finally, he decided to seek counsel from a very wise and very powerful old witch.
She told him that she would reveal the secret only if he promised to marry her. Arthur agreed and she gave the answer: "To be in charge of their own lives."
As the wedding approached, Arthur was beginning to regret his promise. He'd been so eager to find out the answer that he had failed to seriously ponder the consequences of having an ugly old witch as his wife.
When the day of the wedding came though, the witch appeared to Arthur as a beautiful woman. She said that since he'd been kind enough to marry her, she would be a witch half the time, and a beautiful maiden half the time. But he would have to choose when!
This time, Arthur gave it more serious thought - a beautiful woman to show off to his friends, but at night, in the privacy of his home, a gnarled old witch? Or by day, a hideous hag, but by night, a beautiful woman with whom to enjoy many intimate moments?
Care to guess his decision?
Well, noble Arthur replied he would let her choose for herself. Upon hearing this, she announced she would be beautiful all the time, because he had respected her enough to let her be in charge of her own life.
The witch's answer to the question "What do women really want?" was deceptively simple, wasn't it? Yet, Arthur was wise enough to understand its meaning. And that earned him a beautiful bride. As well as a wonderful marriage and relationship, presuming he continued to understand and apply the philosophy.
So what do women really want?
What we all want, really - to be in charge our own lives. To be appreciated and respected. To be made to feel that our opinions and feelings matter. A simple philosophy that is crucial to making any relationship work.

3. Why you don't ever see the headline: "Psychic Wins Lottery"?
4.Why "abbreviated" is such a long word?
5. Why Doctors call what they do "practice"?
6. Why you have to click on "Start" to stop Windows 98/2k/ME/XP?
7. Why lemon juice is made with artificial flavor, while dishwashing liquid is made with real lemons?
8. Who tastes dog food when it has a "new & improved" flavor?
9. Why Noah didn't swat those two mosquitoes?
10. Why sheep don't shrink when it rains?
11. Why they are called apartments when they are all stuck together?
12. If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of progress?
13. Why they call the airport "the terminal" if flying is so safe?
AND...
In case you need further proof that the human race is doomed because of stupidity, here are some actual label instructions on consumer goods.
On a Myer hairdryer: "Do not use while sleeping".
(Darn, and that's the only time I have to work on my hair).
On a bag of Chips: You could be a winner! No purchase necessary.Details inside.

On a bar of Palmolive soap: "Directions:Use like regular soap".
(And that would be how???)
On some frozen dinners: "Serving suggestion: Defrost".
(But, it's just a suggestion).
On Nanna's Tiramisu dessert (printed on bottom): "Do not turn upside down".
(Well...duh, a bit late, huh)!
On Marks & Spencer Bread Pudding: "Product will be hot after heating".
(And you thought????...)
On packaging for a K-Mart iron: "Do not iron clothes on body".
(But wouldn't this save me more time?)
On Boot's Children Cough Medicine: "Do not drive a car or operate machinery after taking this medication".
(We could do a lot to reduce the rate of construction accidents if we could just get those 5 year olds with head colds off those forklifts.)
On Nytol Sleep Aid: "Warning: May cause drowsiness".
(And...I'm taking this because???)
On most brands of Christmas lights: "For indoor or outdoor use only".
(As opposed to...what?)
On a Japanese food processor: "Not to be used for the other use".
(Now, somebody out there, help me on this.I'm a bit curious.)
On Nobby's peanuts: "Warning: contains nuts".
(Talk about a news flash!)
On an American Airlines packet of nuts: "Instructions:Open packet, eat nuts".
(Step 3: maybe, uh...fly Delta?)
I don't blame the company, I blame the parents for this one...
On a child's superman costume: "Wearing of this garment does not enable you to fly".
On a Swedish chainsaw: "Do not attempt to stop chain with your hands or genitals".
(Was there a lot of this happening somewhere?)
Hope that made you smile for a while. I was laughing away tho. hehehe... Cheerie up and Cheerio~

The Secret to Working and Living Well With People
Entrepreneur Mary Kay Ash once said "Everyone has an invisible sign hanging from their neck saying, 'Make me feel important.'"
Mary certainly knew what she was talking about. That little secret to working well with people helped her grow Mary Kay Cosmetics into the largest direct seller of skin care and color cosmetics in the United States. Mary understood that in any relationship, whether it's a spouse, child, client, colleague, or casual acquaintance, the best way to make a lasting impression is to take the time to make others feel genuinely valued.
Here are some ways you can make others feel more important.
Greet everyone you meet with enthusiasm. Have you ever called someone on the telephone - or met them somewhere -- and they greeted you with such energy and enthusiasm that you felt they must truly adore you? A greeting of ardent and genuine enthusiasm sets the tone for your entire encounter. It's such a simple skill (the hardest part is remembering to do it) but if you CAN remember, it will enliven all of your relationships. This skill can be particularly life-changing when practiced with your children. A simple show of enthusiasm and appreciation when a child walks in the room can have a miraculous effect on the relationship.
Slow down. Take the time in conversation to really listen. While someone is talking, focus on taking in what he or she is saying in words, tone, and body language instead of thinking about what you are going to say next. Relax and listen before responding. As you practice this form of deep listening, work on identifying the other person's needs. Put your own needs aside during the conversation and focus on determining what they need today. Savour the connection you can make with another person, even in a casual conversation.
Work on remembering the details of past conversations and encounters. Ask about the things they confided to you. How did her business presentation go? How is his ailing father? It's often helpful to make little notes to remind you to ask about something or someone the next time you meet. This simple skill shows people that they are important to you.
Appreciate the small things that people do for you and never pass up an opportunity to say thank you. Find simple and small ways to show appreciation and caring to those you love.
When you make the people around you feel important, you create a climate of trust and mutual appreciation, which can change your life in ways large and small. Try it today.
